BLEEDING ART: Royale de Luxe


Since 1979, the French troupe Royale de Luxe has been stunning the world with their gigantic and superbly-crafted mechanical marionettes. In this photo you see the colossal deep-sea diver who will creak to life as part of the upcoming Estuary 2009 arts festival in the French city of Nantes. Royale de Luxe usually has a complicated biography for each of their giant creatures. The diver is apparently searching for his missing niece, a giant child who was being held captive aboard the Titanic when it sank.
