As a follow-up to our Phantom of the Paradise post, here's Paul Williams performing the film's closing theme, The Hell of It, in a video cut together from his appearances on the '70s shows The Hardy Boys and the final episode of The Brady Bunch Variety Hour. It's an irresistibly catchy song, but it's also so cynical and macabre that it's kind of stunning he performed it on these shows. Both series were incredibly wholesome family fare, the last places you'd ever expect to hear a song with lyrics about burning in hell and being bad in bed.
