Elfman talks FORBIDDEN ZONE sequel

A little over a month ago, Forbidden Zone director Richard Elfman spoke with the Quiet Earth website and offered an update on this cult classic's planned sequel. Among other promising developments, Elfman revealed that his brother - famed soundtrack composer and former Oingo Boingo frontman Danny Elfman - is planning to reprise his Satan character from the original film.

"Got most of the script," the director said," some of the actors (to be announced), Danny has written some music and we have major chunk of the money committed. As soon our new mortgage goes through and I pre-sell a few more of my future grandchildren, we'll be in full gear! Oh, and Danny will reprise his role as the devil, doing his own revamped version of St. James Infirmary Blues."

Asked if there was a shooting date scheduled, Elfman replied, "There will be soon. Forbidden Zone I was completed in 1982. I'm rested now, and ready for number two."
