Lou Reed and Mattotti team for THE RAVEN

Now this is interesting: former Velvet Underground-ling Lou Reed has collaborated with Lorenzo Mattotti, one of the finest stylists in all of comics art, to produce The Raven, an adaptation of Reed's music/spoken word theatrical piece and concept album based on the work of Edgar Allan Poe. (So, it's a book based on Reed's CD/theater piece, based on the work of Poe. Got that?)

This link will take you to a Google translation of an interview with Mattotti about the collaboration - it's surprisingly clear, given the quality of most automatic, online translations. Note that the interview includes one illustration that is possibly not safe for work. I'm not really sure what the heck we're looking at there, but I think it's something nasty.
