TRON sequel will feature Bruce Boxleitner

SCI FI Wire has announced that Bruce Boxleitner, the original Tron himself, will appear in the upcoming Tron sequel Tron Legacy. Jeff Bridges, the original film's leading man, will have a dual role in the film as both an aged Flynn and a younger character based on Kevin Flynn, but Boxleitner will apparently only appear as Bradley, the Tron program's counterpart in the real world.

"It was challenging, in that I got a little taste of this new technology of acting what they call 'in the volume' and making movies without cameras," Bridges told the site. "It's a completely different deal. That was kind of a challenge. It was great getting back with my old buddy, [original Tron director] Steven Lisberger, and Bruce Boxleitner."

Presumably this means that Tron himself doesn't play any role in the film, which is a little odd when you think about it. I mean, the films are named after him. Still, it's nice to hear that Bradley is still kicking around. (If you're really itchy to make sure that Cindy Morgan has a role in the film, there's already a sad little Facebook group for you to join.)
