Games based on musicians

Saturday, October 10, 2009

A couple of years ago, the folks at The Next Level made a few short videos looking at various "classic" video games. They only did a few before they gave it up, which is unfortunate because they were pretty interesting. This one looks at games about specific musical acts, including Journey, Prince, Frankie Goes to Hollywood, Peter Gabriel, Devo, Michael Jackson and more. It features a gratuitous and unfunny AIDS joke, but otherwise it's a funny and interesting enough to make me pine for the days when G4 was still worth watching. (Seriously, guys, Cops, Cheaters and the same three or four action movies, over and over, 24/7? Was the world really crying out for such a thing?)

About This Blog

"Science fiction plucks from within us our deepest fears and hopes, then shows them to us in rough disguise: the monster and the rocket." - W.H. Auden

Who is he, this one who is called "Greg Stacy"?

Greg Stacy began the MONSTERS AND ROCKETS blog in April of 2009. Prior to that, he was editor of the popular sci-fi/horror news website DARKWOLDS.COM. He has also written for LA WEEKLY, OC WEEKLY, UTNE READER and LOS ANGELES CITYBEAT. He always feels weird writing about himself in the third person.
