Fully-skinned, poseable toys?
Saturday, December 5, 2009
I'm not the biggest action figure geek and I never even got around to seeing 300, but this upcoming King Leonidas figure from Hot Toys is worth mentioning.
Hot Toys does really amazing work (they were the company that made the Heath Ledger Joker with moving eyes) and if I'm understanding this correctly, their Leonidas is poseable despite not having any visible joints. How does that work? I have no idea. But apparently it works. I guess they made a Leonidas skeleton, and then covered it with some sort of rubber plastic stuff that can stretch and bend without tearing.
At this point, how far away are we from the Small Soldiers?
(Note that the figure for sale through the Amazon link is an earlier toy, and not the Hot Toys one.)
