DOLLHOUSE season 2 clip

Wednesday, September 2, 2009

Below you'll find a rather intense scene between Echo and Claire (AKA the Doll Formerly Known as Whiskey) from the upcoming second season of Dollhouse. While the clip does advance the story a bit, showing us more of Echo's dawning self-awareness and Claire's deepening bitterness about her own sorry lot in life, it doesn't really feature any spoilers, per se.

I must admit to not being all that excited about Dollhouse coming back. Now don't get me wrong, I'm a Joss fan from way back in the day. (I hopped on the Buffy train about halfway through season one, after my parents clued me in that despite it's goofy name this was a show worth making time for. Thanks, folks!) But while Dollhouse was starting to get more interesting towards the end of season one, the premise still felt clunky. As a fan of Whedon's work, I was forced to watch both Angel and Firefly get the axe too soon, when they still had plenty of stories left to tell. But with Dollhouse I always had the feeling that they were straining to get another episode done, that there were only so many stories to tell and with every episode they were closer to exhausting what the show could do.

(Or maybe I'm just still bitter that Whedon and Dushku signed on for a whole series together, and it wasn't Faith. Whatever problems I have with Dollhouse would be solved if they had some vampires and demons running around.)

Who is he, this one who is called "Greg Stacy"?

Greg Stacy began the MONSTERS AND ROCKETS blog in April of 2009. Prior to that, he was editor of the popular sci-fi/horror news website DARKWOLDS.COM. He has also written for LA WEEKLY, OC WEEKLY, UTNE READER and LOS ANGELES CITYBEAT. He always feels weird writing about himself in the third person.
