STRANGE TOONS: LUXO JR. 2: THE RECKONING

Sunday, September 6, 2009

John Lasseter's 1986 Oscar winning short Luxo Jr. was Pixar's first film, and a pivotal work in animation history. It is also adorable.

In 2007, sharkfantastic made an unauthorized sequel, Luxo Jr. 2: The Reckoning. This could be pretty traumatic if you're a big Luxo Jr. fan, but - spoiler warning - things work out OK in the end. (Although in fairness, it must be said that those balls do have good reason to be ticked off.)

About This Blog

"Science fiction plucks from within us our deepest fears and hopes, then shows them to us in rough disguise: the monster and the rocket." - W.H. Auden

Who is he, this one who is called "Greg Stacy"?

Greg Stacy began the MONSTERS AND ROCKETS blog in April of 2009. Prior to that, he was editor of the popular sci-fi/horror news website DARKWOLDS.COM. He has also written for LA WEEKLY, OC WEEKLY, UTNE READER and LOS ANGELES CITYBEAT. He always feels weird writing about himself in the third person.
