REBOOT-APALOOZA: RESIDENT EVIL reboot coming

Wednesday, September 9, 2009

There have been so many big screen reboots announced lately that I've decided to start up Reboot-apalooza, yet another feature I'll probably forget about in two weeks. (Remember "Geek of the Week"? Yeah, neither do I.)

We've gotten used to studios rebooting stuff that's not that old (like the upcoming Buffy movie) and even stuff that's still ongoing (like the upcoming Battlestar Galactica reboot movie that's going to be hitting theaters while the previous Galactica's new spinoff, Caprica, is airing on TV.) But in an interesting new twist, the producers of the Resident Evil movie franchise are now prepping for Resident Evil 4: Afterlife, a fourth film starring Milla Jovovich, at the same time they're planning for the movie after that to be a franchise reboot, essentially remaking the first film in the series.

Maybe on Milla's final day of shooting, on her way out the door she can pass her guns, combat boots and other hand-me-downs over to whichever younger actress will be taking over the franchise.

About This Blog

"Science fiction plucks from within us our deepest fears and hopes, then shows them to us in rough disguise: the monster and the rocket." - W.H. Auden

Who is he, this one who is called "Greg Stacy"?

Greg Stacy began the MONSTERS AND ROCKETS blog in April of 2009. Prior to that, he was editor of the popular sci-fi/horror news website DARKWOLDS.COM. He has also written for LA WEEKLY, OC WEEKLY, UTNE READER and LOS ANGELES CITYBEAT. He always feels weird writing about himself in the third person.
