WHO's the returning WHO star?

Friday, April 17, 2009

Without even trying, I just found out that a beloved Doctor Who character is making an unexpected return in an upcoming episode. (Thanks a bunch, Airlock Alpha. Didn't you jokers ever hear of spoiler warnings?) Now I'm good and spoiled, but if you want to avoid spoilage yourself, stop reading right now.

Apparently the abrasive yet adorable Donna Noble (Catherine Tate) will have another run-in with the Doctor during David Tennant's final episode. Donna was previously written off the show by having her memory of her adventures with the Doctor erased, and then she was dropped back into her dreary urban life without any clue of all the amazing things she'd seen and done. It was a rather tragic fate for a character who had initially divided fans only to eventually win them over in a big way.

American fans are eager to see Tate as Donna again... Although goodness only knows when we'll get the chance. The specials featuring Tennant's final run as the Doctor are now airing in the UK, but there's no word yet on when or where they'll air stateside.

"Science fiction plucks from within us our deepest fears and hopes, then shows them to us in rough disguise: the monster and the rocket." - W.H. Auden

Who is he, this one who is called "Greg Stacy"?

Greg Stacy began the MONSTERS AND ROCKETS blog in April of 2009. Prior to that, he was editor of the popular sci-fi/horror news website DARKWOLDS.COM. He has also written for LA WEEKLY, OC WEEKLY, UTNE READER and LOS ANGELES CITYBEAT. He always feels weird writing about himself in the third person.
