Will TERMINATOR's Schwarzenegger be back, or not?

Wednesday, April 22, 2009

OK, this is getting annoying. With mere weeks to go before the premiere of Terminator Salvation, original Terminator star Arnold Schwarzenegger has made it official that he won't play a part in the movie. But it's possible he'll be in the movie.

Confused? I don't blame you. Just since this blog started, there have been multiple, conflicting reports about whether Schwarzenegger will be in the movie. But now the actor-turned-CA-governor tells the LA Times he will probably appear in the movie in some form, even if he doesn't participate as an actor.

"I made it very clear that I don't have the time to do the movie," Schwarzenegger said. "I said that I would be willing to be in the movie if they get the technology together, and so they are working on that right now."

Just a few days ago, director McG told MTV that Schwarzenegger's appearance in the film wasn't set. Again, this movie is due to premiere just a few weeks from now - May 21st! - so if they're planning to use CGI or some other method to include Schwarzenegger's icon cyborg character, they'd better be signing some contracts, and fast.

About This Blog

"Science fiction plucks from within us our deepest fears and hopes, then shows them to us in rough disguise: the monster and the rocket." - W.H. Auden

Who is he, this one who is called "Greg Stacy"?

Greg Stacy began the MONSTERS AND ROCKETS blog in April of 2009. Prior to that, he was editor of the popular sci-fi/horror news website DARKWOLDS.COM. He has also written for LA WEEKLY, OC WEEKLY, UTNE READER and LOS ANGELES CITYBEAT. He always feels weird writing about himself in the third person.
