Blast Off!

Hello, and welcome to Monsters and Rockets, your guide to science-fiction, horror and all things geek. We'll tell you everything you want to know about dark and fantastic movies, TV shows, books, comics, fine art and more. We'll give you updates on the latest weird science, so you won't be left unprepared for the coming robot uprising. We'll follow all the strange happenings around the globe, so you'll know to stock up on supplies if zombie activity is on the rise. And we'll do it all with a sense of humor, so at least you'll have something to put a smile on your face on those long, dark nights down in the bunker, as you wonder if the zombies or the robots will get you first.

Monsters and Rockets is brought to you by some of the same brains behind Darkworlds.com, the popular sci-fi/horror news site that ran from 2002-2008. Think of Monsters and Rockets as Darkworlds' little brother, only less dark and more dork. As we launch we'll treat you to some of the best interviews, reviews, essays and other treasures from the Darkworlds vaults, some of it unseen for years. (Maybe this sounds like we're just re-posting a bunch of old stuff because we're lazy, but we promise there are some goodies in there.)

Got an idea for something we should cover? Terrific! Interested in writing for the site? Even better! Send us a line at monstersandrockets@hotmail.com.

About This Blog

"Science fiction plucks from within us our deepest fears and hopes, then shows them to us in rough disguise: the monster and the rocket." - W.H. Auden

Who is he, this one who is called "Greg Stacy"?

Greg Stacy began the MONSTERS AND ROCKETS blog in April of 2009. Prior to that, he was editor of the popular sci-fi/horror news website DARKWOLDS.COM. He has also written for LA WEEKLY, OC WEEKLY, UTNE READER and LOS ANGELES CITYBEAT. He always feels weird writing about himself in the third person.
