MST3K trio on live PLAN 9 screenings

Tuesday, August 18, 2009

On August 20th Mystery Science Theater 3000 stars Mike Nelson, Kevin Murphy, and Bill Corbett will be broadcasting a live show to theaters in which they'll riff on Ed Wood's cult classic, Plan Nine From Outer Space. In a lengthy interview with the Onion A.V. Club, the trio discuss the road from MST3K to here.

Nelson: I think the Plan 9 thing is going to be very comfortable and familiar for the people who were real MST fans. I think the spirit of the humor is, there’s a continuation there that I don’t think will jar anyone. I understand people getting emotionally attached to something and not wanting it to change. We saw that on the show itself, we’d change something on the wall, and people would write in and complain.

Corbett: That was me, Mike. I really liked that thing on the wall.

Nelson: That’s why we hired you, to stop you writing letters.

Who is he, this one who is called "Greg Stacy"?

Greg Stacy began the MONSTERS AND ROCKETS blog in April of 2009. Prior to that, he was editor of the popular sci-fi/horror news website DARKWOLDS.COM. He has also written for LA WEEKLY, OC WEEKLY, UTNE READER and LOS ANGELES CITYBEAT. He always feels weird writing about himself in the third person.
