Miss McDonald

Wednesday, November 11, 2009

In November of 2004, a mysterious, female Ronald McDonald doppelganger (a McDoppelganger?) appeared on the streets of Mandaluyong City in the Philippines. For the next year the smallish and pretty Miss McDonald wandered about in her big floppy clown shoes, going about her everyday business seemingly unaware that there was anything unusual about her get-up. She cleaned up the yard. Hung out in the park. Played basketball. Went to see the doctor and the dentist. That Halloween she was stricken with zombieism, resulting in the terrifying scene you see below.

Fortunately she apparently recovered by November. But not long after, she vanished as mysteriously as she'd arrived, leaving the people of Mandaluyong City with a Big Mac-sized hole in their hearts. But perhaps Miss McDonald is still out there somewhere, even now. We can only dream.

About This Blog

"Science fiction plucks from within us our deepest fears and hopes, then shows them to us in rough disguise: the monster and the rocket." - W.H. Auden

Who is he, this one who is called "Greg Stacy"?

Greg Stacy began the MONSTERS AND ROCKETS blog in April of 2009. Prior to that, he was editor of the popular sci-fi/horror news website DARKWOLDS.COM. He has also written for LA WEEKLY, OC WEEKLY, UTNE READER and LOS ANGELES CITYBEAT. He always feels weird writing about himself in the third person.
