SAMURAI JACK movie is back on!

Jack's back from the past, and you best watch out! The blog for Frederator Films has announced that they are moving ahead with the film version of Genndy Tartakovsky's Cartoon Network series, Samurai Jack.

Samurai Jack was a amazing show, an exciting and atmospheric sci-fi action tale that followed a samurai warrior who had been flung into the far future by the evil, shape-shifting wizard known as Aku. The show won Emmys and spawned comic books and video game adaptations, only to be abruptly canceled before its 4th season was finished. Tartakovsky planned to finish Jack's story in a feature film, but that was put on hold after the Powerpuff Girls movie under-performed at the box office. Tartakovsky's gone on to other projects since, but he's made no secret of the fact that he still longed to do something with the Samurai Jack franchise.

So it's great to hear that the film is back on. What's more, according to the Frederator blog J.J. Abrams will be producing through his Bad Robot production company, so Jack will have some big guns behind him to help make sure this movie gets made.
