Fielding cancels solo tour to work on BOOSH movie

Friday, November 13, 2009

In news that will disappoint English fans of The Mighty Boosh star Noel Fielding (and gladden the hearts of Boosh fans everywhere else), Fielding has announced via Twitter that he's canceled his solo stand-up tour in the UK so that he can work on a Boosh album and finally finish writing the Boosh movie with Julian Barratt.

"Just a quick message to say my tour has been cancelled so that Julian and I can concentrate on writing the film and the album x," Fielding wrote last week, adding later, "I really wish I had time to do everything but there have been a lot of complications and things shifting around out of my control. Sorry."

Previously Barratt and Fielding had sounded rather lukewarm on the prospect of doing a movie (or another TV series of Boosh) at all. I haven't heard them say anything recently about another series, but it's good to know the movie is back on.

About This Blog

"Science fiction plucks from within us our deepest fears and hopes, then shows them to us in rough disguise: the monster and the rocket." - W.H. Auden

Who is he, this one who is called "Greg Stacy"?

Greg Stacy began the MONSTERS AND ROCKETS blog in April of 2009. Prior to that, he was editor of the popular sci-fi/horror news website DARKWOLDS.COM. He has also written for LA WEEKLY, OC WEEKLY, UTNE READER and LOS ANGELES CITYBEAT. He always feels weird writing about himself in the third person.
