TERMINATOR's Schwarzenegger will be back

Wednesday, April 8, 2009

There have been rumors for a long time that bodybuilder-turned-actor-turned-Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger would play some role in the upcoming Terminator Salvation, with Schwarzenegger himself staying somewhat evasive on the topic.

Well, now MTV reports that Schwarzenegger will indeed appear in the film somehow, although it's not yet known if he will have a brief onscreen role, if his appearance will be the basis for a new version of the Terminators from the original films, or if he will do some sort of voice work.

"I don’t know," says his co-star, Terry Crews. "I haven’t seen it. They only gave out pages of the script. It was crazy. It was very, very secretive. Believe me - when you see it, that will be the first time I saw it."

Given that Schwarzenegger has sometimes struggled to maintain his credibility as a politician and distance himself from his days as an movie star, it's a bit surprising he's agreed to play a role in the franchise that made him famous. Still, we'd much rather have him as an action hero than our governor!

Who is he, this one who is called "Greg Stacy"?

Greg Stacy began the MONSTERS AND ROCKETS blog in April of 2009. Prior to that, he was editor of the popular sci-fi/horror news website DARKWOLDS.COM. He has also written for LA WEEKLY, OC WEEKLY, UTNE READER and LOS ANGELES CITYBEAT. He always feels weird writing about himself in the third person.
