WHO's Davies hoped for ENTERPRISE crossover

Tuesday, April 7, 2009

Departing Doctor Who star David Tennant and writer/producer Russell T. Davies have granted a freewheeling interview with The Times of London, and in it Davies reveals he was keen to arrange a Star Trek crossover during his first season with Who.

"I would have loved to have done a Star Trek crossover. The very first year, we talked about it. Then Star Trek finally went off air. Landing the Tardis on board the Enterprise would have been magnificent. Can you imagine what their script department would have wanted, and what I would have wanted? It would have been the biggest battle."

Star Trek: Enterprise was the Trek series on the air at the time. Having the Doctor step onto Captain Archer's bridge wouldn't have had the same impact as seeing him with Kirk or Picard... But the melding of these two classic franchises still would've made for one of the greatest geek TV moments ever. (Click here to purchase Doctor Who: The Complete Fourth Series on Amazon.com)

Who is he, this one who is called "Greg Stacy"?

Greg Stacy began the MONSTERS AND ROCKETS blog in April of 2009. Prior to that, he was editor of the popular sci-fi/horror news website DARKWOLDS.COM. He has also written for LA WEEKLY, OC WEEKLY, UTNE READER and LOS ANGELES CITYBEAT. He always feels weird writing about himself in the third person.
