Beware of the Blob!

Wednesday, November 4, 2009

You've surely heard of The Blob, even if you've never seen it. You know, the movie where young Steve McQueen goes up against a giant, killer blancmange. Well, whatever you imagined the film's opening credits were like, you surely did not imagine anything as amazing as this little miracle of 1950s kitsch, featuring the insidiously catchy music of Burt Bacharach and Mack David performed by The Five Blobs.

You're now going to spend the rest of your day singing to yourself about how the Blob slides and glides across the floor. You're welcome.

About This Blog

"Science fiction plucks from within us our deepest fears and hopes, then shows them to us in rough disguise: the monster and the rocket." - W.H. Auden

Who is he, this one who is called "Greg Stacy"?

Greg Stacy began the MONSTERS AND ROCKETS blog in April of 2009. Prior to that, he was editor of the popular sci-fi/horror news website DARKWOLDS.COM. He has also written for LA WEEKLY, OC WEEKLY, UTNE READER and LOS ANGELES CITYBEAT. He always feels weird writing about himself in the third person.
