Hammer Films' THE RESIDENT to star Swank, Morgan... and Chrstopher Lee!!!
Wednesday, November 4, 2009
I know, three exclamation marks in that headline is veering dangerously close to Harry Knowles territory, but this news really is just that exciting.
Hammer Films, the British outfit behind those great horror B-pictures of old, has now resurrected and is working on a new series of horror films. Fresh out of the crypt things are already looking promising, with The Resident set to star Oscar winner Hilary Swank, Jeffrey Dean Morgan (well-known to genre fans for his intense performances as Watchmen's Comedian and Papa Winchester on Supernatural) and none other than Sir Christopher Lee, the actor who portrayed Dracula, Frankenstein's Monster and other classic monsters for Hammer all those years ago. Lee's last Hammer picture was To the Devil a Daughter in 1976.
Morgan will portray a landlord who stalks his new tenant, a young doctor played by Swank. Lee will portray Morgan's grandfather. ShockTillYouDrop has already posted a few press photos.
