MUSIC FROM SPACE: Iggy Pop - KING OF THE DOGS

Tuesday, May 12, 2009

If you only click one link today, make it this one, I beg of you. This is an amazing, interactive music video from punk rock legend Iggy Pop, for the song King of the Dogs off his new CD, Preliminaires. At the beginning of the clip you decide which of three dogs you think should star in the video, and then you're treated to a skuzzy yet adorable video featuring some extremely impressive stop-motion animation. The song's some pretty tasty stuff too, and it's a real departure from Pop's usual output. It has a funky, Cab Colloway/Tom Waits feel.

Why are you still reading this? Make with the clicking! Go on, get clicking, you! (And then click the image to the left to buy Iggy's new Preliminaires CD.)

About This Blog

"Science fiction plucks from within us our deepest fears and hopes, then shows them to us in rough disguise: the monster and the rocket." - W.H. Auden

Who is he, this one who is called "Greg Stacy"?

Greg Stacy began the MONSTERS AND ROCKETS blog in April of 2009. Prior to that, he was editor of the popular sci-fi/horror news website DARKWOLDS.COM. He has also written for LA WEEKLY, OC WEEKLY, UTNE READER and LOS ANGELES CITYBEAT. He always feels weird writing about himself in the third person.
