DUSHKU, MILANO TO BECOME GHOSTBUSTERS?: Dan Aykroyd tells the Los Angeles Times that shooting could begin as soon as this summer for a third Ghostbusters movie. He reports that Sigourney Weaver, Bill Murray, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson are all slated to appear. He also said the film could include a "new generation," co-ed team of Ghostbusters, possibly including Charmed's Alyssa Milano and Dollhouse's Eliza Dushku. Dushku later tweeted that she'd be interested in a role: "Ahh, just saw the article, Danny A's genius! There are so many ways I'd 'suit' up. GB's IS hot :)"

SPIELBERG TO EXEC PRODUCE NEW ALIEN INVASION SERIES:
Sci Fi Scoop reports that TNT is launching a new alien invasion TV series executive produced by Steven Spielberg. The show will be set six months after an alien invasion began, and will follow a group of everyday folk who gather to fight for humanity. (I bet TNT is just thrilled about that higher-profile V remake that's soon to air on ABC.)

MONSTERS VS. ALIENS
TV SERIES COMING:
Nickelodeon is planning a series based on the CGI blockbuster. No word yet on which members of the film's A-list cast (if any) will reprise their roles for the series.

FLASH FORWARD CLIP ONLINE:
The first clip is online from Flash Forward, the upcoming sci-fi drama from Dark Knight co-writer David S. Goyer and former Enterprise producer Brannon Braga. Unfortunately the pair's previous team-up was the underwhelming and short-lived UFO series Threshold, so I don't have high hopes for this one.

"Science fiction plucks from within us our deepest fears and hopes, then shows them to us in rough disguise: the monster and the rocket." - W.H. Auden

Who is he, this one who is called "Greg Stacy"?

Greg Stacy began the MONSTERS AND ROCKETS blog in April of 2009. Prior to that, he was editor of the popular sci-fi/horror news website DARKWOLDS.COM. He has also written for LA WEEKLY, OC WEEKLY, UTNE READER and LOS ANGELES CITYBEAT. He always feels weird writing about himself in the third person.
