MUSIC FROM SPACE: Robots in Disguise - GIRL

Monday, May 11, 2009

This video for the UK electropop duo Robots in Disguise was directed by UK artist Dave the Chimp and it's an amazing little epic, a kind of live-action Powerpuff Girls episode brought to life with cardboard and string and some very NSFW language. The hypnotist bad guy with a whole lot of chin is Noel Fielding, from the brilliant English comedy series, The Mighty Boosh. Robots in Disguise have appeared on Boosh a few times as various slatternly characters, and Fielding and the Robots' Dee Plume have apparently become a popular tabloid couple in the UK. Don't you wish America was cool enough to have weirdoes like these on the covers of the magazines at the checkout stand? About This Blog

"Science fiction plucks from within us our deepest fears and hopes, then shows them to us in rough disguise: the monster and the rocket." - W.H. Auden

Who is he, this one who is called "Greg Stacy"?

Greg Stacy began the MONSTERS AND ROCKETS blog in April of 2009. Prior to that, he was editor of the popular sci-fi/horror news website DARKWOLDS.COM. He has also written for LA WEEKLY, OC WEEKLY, UTNE READER and LOS ANGELES CITYBEAT. He always feels weird writing about himself in the third person.
