V remake details emerge

Thursday, May 21, 2009

Alan Tudyk and Elizabeth Mitchell have joined the cast of the upcoming V remake, which is a mixed blessing indeed. On the one hand, they're both talented actors with serious geek cred - Tudyk is a fan favorite from Firefly and Dollhouse, while Mitchell has been very effective as Juliet on Lost. On the other hand, Tudyk's role on V probably means we won't see much of Alpha on Dollhouse's second season, while Mitchell's casting on V probably spells the end for Lost's Juliet/Sawyer/Jack/Kate romantic quadrangle. But at least V is sounding sort of interesting, and the cast will be filled out by other genre faves like The 4400's Joel Gretsch and Tudyk's Firefly co-star Morena Baccarin.

A new trailer for the series is online, and it's a whopper at nearly three minutes long. (Click the image above to buy the original V miniseries on DVD.)

About This Blog

"Science fiction plucks from within us our deepest fears and hopes, then shows them to us in rough disguise: the monster and the rocket." - W.H. Auden

Who is he, this one who is called "Greg Stacy"?

Greg Stacy began the MONSTERS AND ROCKETS blog in April of 2009. Prior to that, he was editor of the popular sci-fi/horror news website DARKWOLDS.COM. He has also written for LA WEEKLY, OC WEEKLY, UTNE READER and LOS ANGELES CITYBEAT. He always feels weird writing about himself in the third person.
