THE STRANGE CASES OF DOCTORS JEKYLL AND MISTERS HYDE

Thursday, May 14, 2009

We already reported on the upcoming Keanu Reeves movie based on Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, and a separate version of the story being developed by Guillermo del Toro. But now Variety reports that yet another adaptation is on the way, this time a contemporized version directed by Abel Ferrara (Bad Lieutenant) and starring Forest Whitaker and Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson. The article reports that Whitaker and Jackson will both be playing the "lead roles," suggesting that either Whitaker turns into Fiddy or vice-versa. Whitaker has the range to do a great job as Jeckyll and Hyde, but Jackson... Well, if his previous performances are anything to go by, he's going to make Keanu look good.

About This Blog

"Science fiction plucks from within us our deepest fears and hopes, then shows them to us in rough disguise: the monster and the rocket." - W.H. Auden

Who is he, this one who is called "Greg Stacy"?

Greg Stacy began the MONSTERS AND ROCKETS blog in April of 2009. Prior to that, he was editor of the popular sci-fi/horror news website DARKWOLDS.COM. He has also written for LA WEEKLY, OC WEEKLY, UTNE READER and LOS ANGELES CITYBEAT. He always feels weird writing about himself in the third person.
