NIGHT ZERO - zombie photo-comics

Monday, May 4, 2009

Night Zero is an interesting, zombie apocalypse photo-comicbook (or fumetti, to use the technical term) produced by a group of creative friends up in Seattle. They shoot the book on location using full costumes, fight choreography, etc., and they get a nice, semi-drawn look by using High Dynamic Range photography. There are some touches that are a bit cliche, but the books have a lovely feeling of real doom to them and the photo-comics format gives this the feeling of a good cable miniseries. There have been two issues so far, both availble for free online and the first available for sale in printed form. (Click the cover at left to buy Night Zero: Volume One.) They regularly update the story, and keep a detailed production blog.

About This Blog

"Science fiction plucks from within us our deepest fears and hopes, then shows them to us in rough disguise: the monster and the rocket." - W.H. Auden

Who is he, this one who is called "Greg Stacy"?

Greg Stacy began the MONSTERS AND ROCKETS blog in April of 2009. Prior to that, he was editor of the popular sci-fi/horror news website DARKWOLDS.COM. He has also written for LA WEEKLY, OC WEEKLY, UTNE READER and LOS ANGELES CITYBEAT. He always feels weird writing about himself in the third person.
