NO SCHWARZENEGGER IN RODRIGUEZ'S PREDATORS: Robert Rodriguez tells Ain't It Cool News that there's no truth to rumors he's asked California governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to reprise his Predator role for Rodriguez's upcoming sequel Predators: "We're still writing a new script, and although I know Arnold personally and he's the coolest person on the planet, I have not contacted him about this at all at this time. As promised, I'll keep you posted on such developments since Predator is such a fan favorite. But then again, he could very well have told someone he'd be into it. Who knows? Personally, I haven't heard anything. But it's still early in the day." (Click the image at left to buy Predator Widescreen Collector's Edition)

MOORE SAYS VIRTUALITY COULD STILL BE A SERIES... MAYBE: In a lengthy and spoiler-heavy interview with SCI FI Wire, Ronald D. Moore said it's not impossible his series pilot Virtuality could still be a full series. "(Fox hasn't) officially said, 'That's it. It's over.' You never know how these things turn out, but at the moment I think Fox's attitude is probably wait and see."

EVERY MOVIE EVER MADE WILL BE REMADE EVENTUALLY: The latest remake announcement you can't freakin' believe: Enchanted director Kevin Lima will helm a remake of the bizzaro Don Knotts comedy The Incredible Mr. Limpet. The story follows a henpecked husband who is thrilled when he's transformed into a fish and begins a new life under the sea. The original film was a mix of live-action and animation, and apparently the remake will be as well. But unless they can somehow resurrect Don Knotts, why bother? You don't improve on Knotts, baby.

GALACTICA TV MOVIE TRAILER ONLINE: A new trailer is online for the Battlestar Galactica TV movie, The Plan. (Well, to be honest it's not really that new. But hey, it's probably new to you!)

About This Blog

"Science fiction plucks from within us our deepest fears and hopes, then shows them to us in rough disguise: the monster and the rocket." - W.H. Auden

Who is he, this one who is called "Greg Stacy"?

Greg Stacy began the MONSTERS AND ROCKETS blog in April of 2009. Prior to that, he was editor of the popular sci-fi/horror news website DARKWOLDS.COM. He has also written for LA WEEKLY, OC WEEKLY, UTNE READER and LOS ANGELES CITYBEAT. He always feels weird writing about himself in the third person.
